Darwyn Cooke's The Hunter
In our fourth episode, we talk about Richard Stark's 1962 crime classic The Hunter, as adapted both by Darwyn Cooke, and by John Boorman and Lee Marvin.
In 2009 IDW published Darwyn Cooke's adaptation of The Hunter, the first of Richard Stark's novels featuring the career criminal Parker. We discuss Cooke's adaptation and compare it to John Boorman and Lee Marvin's adaptation of Stark's 1962 novel, as the 1967 film Point Blank.
The Outfit, the second of Stark s Parker novels, was adapted by Cooke in 2010 and is also published by IDW, and the oversized Parker: The Martini Edition, on sale now, collects both adaptations, together with more than 60 pages of additional material, also from IDW.
